As a result, you become an advanced Yoga teacher who understands their student’s body inside out.

30-Hour Advanced Yoga Anatomy and Physiology Course by Sci Yoga

If you wish to learn advanced Yoga Anatomy and Physiology, learn from the experts. Sci Yoga was developed to provide authentic yet scientific information to our students.

This course helps you understand prehabilitation (prehab) and rehabilitation (rehab) of Yoga. What are prehab and rehab? Prehab is concerned with preventive measures for certain conditions and injuries. Rehab is concerned with the management of injuries or conditions. However, we want to clarify that this course doesn’t make you a biomedical professional. It only makes you a well-informed Yoga teacher who understands the science of the human body and conditions, issues, and imbalances. After completing this course, you will be able to help people with right alignment, injury prevention, correct posture, right muscle control, right joint action, prehab cues, and more.

Why the Advanced Yoga Anatomy Teacher Training Course?

Every year, more than 10,000 students graduate to become Yoga teachers. If you are a Yoga teacher, you already know the competition is fierce in the Yoga space. To become a good Yoga teacher, you need to have a specialization. Many people opt for specialization, such as a philosophical Yoga teacher, a Sanskrit Yoga teacher, an Aerial Yoga teacher, and so on. However, many people are becoming health-conscious and want science-backed solutions for their health. In many cases, people opting for gyms know more muscle names than many Yoga teachers. And they wouldn’t want a Yoga teacher who isn’t specialised or scientifically equipped to guide their body. To have a good reputation, anatomical and science-backed knowledge of Yoga is a must. A well-informed Yoga teacher suits the entire society to educate people to opt for better habits.

A Course Which Understands Your Bio-Individuality

We humans, as per our DNA, are 98.8% similar to a chimpanzee (our closest living relatives). As humans, we are very similar, with all of our organs working almost the same for everyone. However, despite this, we have numerous differences. For example, your Baddha Konasana (Butterfly or Bound Angle Pose) is not the same as mine. Our joint structures, our muscle activation, and our stretches are different. This signifies that even though generic cueing is ok for a group Yoga class. Almost every individual needs your attention as a Yoga teacher. While in most Yoga Anatomy courses, we learn generalised cueing, generalised structures, and joint actions, it is not precise for every individual. Our course gets into the intricacies of structures, joint capsules, common misalignments, muscles, common limitations, and, of course, the solution for all of this.

Our Teachers

Sci Yoga was founded by Divyansh Sharma, who is widely recognised for his book ‘The Yoga Science.’ He holds a master’s in Yogic Science and is an ERYT-500. He has been bending, stretching, and meditating since 2010. His knowledge of Yoga anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics is hard to miss. His ability to simplify complex topics into simpler, digestible ones is commended by the students.

Bholi Parihar, an Ashtangi and an experienced sound healer, co-founded Sci Yoga. She practised Ashtanga Yoga under Shrimati Saraswathi Jois Ji (Born in 1941) and also learned Pranayama under BNS Iyengar (Born in ~1926). Her Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Asana Alignment and Adjustment classes have touched many, and each simply admires her talent. She teaches vivid topics in YTTC, each with love.

Together, Divyansh and Bholi have taught various Yoga courses to students from over 125 countries.

Yoga Biomechanics

Biomechanics is the scientific study of various structures of the living organism, its motion, forces acting on it, and its function by applying the laws of physics. Yoga biomechanics is the study of the human body pertaining to Yoga, based on the laws of biomechanics. Simply put, it is all about the Asanas, the musculoskeletal structures of the human body, and forces. Here, we cover:

  • Bones, Cartilage, Ligaments, and Tendons
  • Anatomy of the Joints and Spine
  • Muscle Actions
  • Stability, Mobility, and Range of Motion
Yoga Kinesiology

Kinesis means movement, and logy means study. Therefore, Kinesiology is the scientific study of the movements across all domains of the human body (or living organism). These domains include physiological, anatomical, biomechanical, pathological, and neuropsychological domains of the human body. Yoga Kinesiology is all about studying Yoga-based movements with respect to the aforementioned domains. Here, we cover:

  • Nervous System and Yoga
  • Respiratory System and Yoga
  • Cardiovascular System and Yoga
  • Endocrine System and Yoga
Yoga Prehab and Rehab

We already mentioned prehab and rehab. With this course, our idea is to make you a teacher who is well-equipped to prevent injuries and can also design a Yoga sequence for a purpose. For these purposes, we help you outline several conditions, their mechanisms, and help you understand some generalised good practices. We cover these valuable aspects here:

  • Yoga and Psychosomatic Disorders: High blood pressure, Obesity
  • Yoga and Psychological Disorders: Stress, Anxiety, and Depression
  • Yoga and Hormonal Disorders: PMOS (PCOS), Diabetes Mellitus
  • Yoga and Musculoskeletal Disorders: Ligament and Cartilage Injuries
Yoga Alignment

Yoga alignment is the field of study within Yoga where we try to understand different alignments of various Yoga postures. The idea here is to minimise injuries and maximise the benefits that we attain from practicing Yoga. While most Yoga postures have different alignment ideas, we want to help students understand the difference between various alignments of the same posture and which to opt for when. For example, Trikonasana or Triangle Pose can be practiced in three major ways: the Ashtanga Vinyasa way, the Hatha way, and the active way. All three variations are effective, yet meant for specific purposes. We cover these valuable aspects here:

  • Asana Alignments
  • Safe Adjustments
  • Injury Prevention in Yoga
  • Asana Breakdown
Prerequisite
  • Enthusiasm for Yoga.
  • You have to be a Yoga practitioner.
  • A believer in biomedical science and Yoga.

In the age of AI, where every answer is available at the click of a button, you don’t need answers, but the right questions. If you don’t know the direction, you can't ask the right questions. Author Divyansh Sharma, who published his book through Penguin Random House imprint Hay House, gives you an experience that artificial intelligence can't give you. Just like you, Penguin Random House doesn’t accept anybody who cannot beat artificial intelligence in their domain.
